In the last 10 years we have seen Real Estate Developments come and turn empty streets into residential hot spots. 10 years ago there was no Churchill Meadows in Mississauga or Liberty Village in Toronto, but today they are two of the most sought after neighbourhoods in their respective cities. One of the marquee projects in Liberty Village is located on the once-barren King West known as "DNA".
DNA 1 & 2 (1 Shaw & 1005 King West) were built by Canderel Stoneridge, and were one of the first major developments on King West specifically targetting the 25-40 demographic. Having done some extensive work in the City, I am a huge fan of the DNA buildings, not only because of the design and amenities, but also because of the appreciation rate, which is among the top tier for condo's in Toronto. The original DNA projects sold for $300 per square foot and today are re-selling at $550-$580 per square foot. We're talking about 12%-13% appreciation every year, almost treble the GTA average 4-5%. The DNA projects are not just popular in Toronto, and we are being told that the registrants are coming from all over Ontario including Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax. We have heard some early rumors about what Canderel Stoneridge are planning on incorporating into their DNA3 project and we are very excited.
