What Programs Are Available?
There are seven special programs available to Mississauga students entering either Grade 6, 7, or 9:
1) Arts
2) Flexography
3) International Baccalaureate (IB)
4) International Business & Technology
5) Sci-Tech
6) Sports
7) Strings
What Do These Programs Offer?
Arts
For students entering in middle school, they will be given a comprehensive education in the arts along with the regular Ontario curriculum. At the high school level, students accepted into the program will be able to choose their discipline along with receiving the Ontario curriculum. Students will also be able to participate in field trips and co-curricular activities along with guest artists visiting the classroom periodically.
Flexography
Students learn to design and manufacture packaging products. The program is designed to prepare students for entry into post-secondary programs. Students can enter in Grade 9, 10, or 11.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
IB is a special and intense program designed to develop intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills in a rapidly globalizing world. Students can enter the Middle Years Program in Grades 9 or 10 and the Diploma Program in Grades 11 or 12.
International Business & Technology (IBT)
Much like IB, IBT is designed for students to explore subjects from a global perspective. It focuses on business and entrepreneurial innovation, technology, and teaching students different and effective learning strategies. Students can enter in Middle or High School.
Sci-Tech
This program provides an interactive approach for students. It's essentially an enhanced version of the science and technology curriculum because of the activities such as field trips, guest speaks, competitions, and clubs.
Sports
Students in the Sports program participate in physical education year round and also participate in co-curricular activities as well as community involvement. Students have the opportunity to obtain certifications in first aid, personal training, officiating and coaching. In Grade 11, they have the option of entering into the Specialist High Skills program which prepares them for different programs in university/college.
Strings
Students can enter the program with advanced training, intermediate training, or no training at all for the viola, violing, cello, or bass. Students will have the opportunity to perform with full orchestras, receive professional training, and even travel to Europe for an educational trip.

How Does My Child Apply For These Programs?
