Mississauga’s Neighbourhoods: Mineola

kenollie

Welcome to Mineola!

This is the fifteenth segment of a 19-part blog-series that showcases Mississauga's unique commmunities. We realized that a lot of our clients are coming from outside Mississauga, and while knowing the top schools is important, they have asked for more information about the individual communities these schools reside in and the real estate available. This is an important criteria not lost on us as finding a neighbourhood that fits your lifestyle is extremely important. We've already ranked the communities based on school zones (which you can find here), so now we're taking a little bit of time to get to know our communities. Next up: Mineola!

Final Thoughts on Mineola

Mineola is one of the older South Mississauga communities that features in our series. With many homes that pre-date WWII, you have a community that feels very different than its more contemporary brothers to the North. That doesn't mean every home is old and run down. In fact, it's quite the opposite. While you may have pockets of older, smaller bungalows, Mineola is quite versatile and in fact boasts more multi-million dollar properties than those under $1 million. Mineola West in particular, home of Kenollie P.S., is a quite expensive area to get into with the average price of property in that school zone around the $2 million mark. If you don't have that kind of money laying around, aim for renovated and upgraded bungalows or backsplits that can be had for more reasonable prices (think $500-$700K).

In terms of the school zone, it's tough to get much better than the #1 and #6 ranked elementary schools. Kenollie P.S. has been far and away the best school in Mississauga for many years. With a small population and school boundary, not to mention prohibitive cost of entry, Kenollie will be tough to crack for most families. However, if you have the money, there's no better place to be than here in Mineola West.
