Mississauga’s Neighbourhoods: Lakeview

Inspiration_Lakeview_model

Welcome to Lakeview!

This is the eleventh segment of a 19-part blog-series that showcases Mississauga's unique commmunities. We realized that a lot of our clients are coming from outside Mississauga, and while knowing the top schools is important, they have asked for more information about the individual communities these schools reside in and the real estate available. This is an important criteria not lost on us as finding a neighbourhood that fits your lifestyle is extremely important. We've already ranked the communities based on school zones (which you can find here), so now we're taking a little bit of time to get to know our communities. Next up: Lakeview!

Q & A Time…

Final Thoughts on Lakeview

Lakeview is the first of our three featured Lakeshore communities. The area is compromised of mostly older homes between 30-60 years old. Newer ones are more likely to be custom built million dollar properties. This is certainly not your cookie-cutter neighbourhood as these older communities are filled with different styles from classic bungalows to creative sidesplits, 1 1/2 storeys, as well as some more traditional 2-storey homes. If you're looking for a fixer-upper, Lakeview can deliver. Looking for an older home that's already been renovated and upgraded? There are more than a few that are considered quite affordable in today's real estate climate.  Finally, check out the plans for the revitalization for the waterfront area at Lakeview. Since the demolition of the generating station in 2007, Mississauga has been planning something big for the area. Waterfront revitalization normally means appreciating land value…

Overall, the school zone is one of the smaller ones. There are two elementary schools (Janet I McDougald & Westacres), one middle school (Allan A Martin Sr.) and one high school (Cawthra Park S.S.). Lakeview doesn't have the strongest scores, but at the high school level, Cawthra Park performs well and is Mississauga's specialty Music & Arts school.
