This is an important criteria not lost on us as finding a neighbourhood that fits your lifestyle is extremely important. We've already ranked the communities based on school zones (which you can find here), so now let's take a little bit of time to get to know our communities. Next up: Fairview!

Final Thoughts on Fairview

Fairview, although a small community, is compromised of two distinct neighbourhoods in a similar fashion to the Cooksville area. There are the 20-40 year old homes in the pockets just outside the City Centre where a lot of new immigrants from the 1960s and 1970s settled, mixed in with the condo developments that were built about 20 years ago. However, there are a couple of newer projects in the Fairview area that have been around for about 5 years. Recent years have seen a wave of new immigrants settle in both the condos (new and old) and in the older parts of town. Driving through Fairview and Cooksville it is difficult to tell where one ends and the other begins. If you're aiming for the convenience of the City Centre, but want something detached, aim for the high $500K to low $600K for realistic options.

In terms of the school zone, Fairview is part of the bottom-ranked TL Kennedy school zone. Fairview itself scores fairly well and its students go to the solidly performing Camilla Road Sr. However, TL Kennedy has performed much below the other high schools in terms of scores, so long-term ownership, if you're very concerned about education, might not be the best idea here. However, rentals are in demand because of the access to the City Centre, so investing in this area might be an option.
