Well isn't that something? Mississauga is Canada's sixth largest city and has approximately 750,000 residents and close to 60,000 businesses, including some Fortune 500 companies with Canadian HQ's and divisional offices.
Mississauga ranked fourth overall in the "large cities of the future" category in the first ever Foreign Direct Investment (fDi) magazine rankings of cities across North and South America.
The ranking also put Toronto fourth overall in the category of "North American cities of the future" – behind New York, Chicago, and Houston. Toronto, was also listed as one of the top 10 "major cities of the future", and it also earned nods for its economic potential, infrastructure, marketing strategy and quality of life.
The rankings took 405 cities across North and South America into account. Each city was weighted by importance to give the overall category scores – for example, the infrastructure category looked at factors such as number of airports, port size, and environmental performance.
This ranking was produced by fDi Magazine, a premier publication for the business of globalization and is the first time the magazine has produced a ranking.
ROCK ON, MISSISSAUGA!!
